![]() | The Garden FestivalIt is a day where one can wander through a parklike setting viewing a variety of plants and garden products from a variety of vendors. There is food, music and a large raffle. Master Gardeners are present to answer any of your gardening questions. The festival runs from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm in the Horticultural Park on Mill Street in Harriston. Admission is free. Currently we have the following vendors: Tropical Expressions, by Mark Volman of Hamilton specializes in Bonsai, exotic tropical plants (i.e. orchids, air plants and coniferous) Steckle's Produce and Flowers specialize in annuals, hanging baskets, planters and vegetables. S & D Odd Crafts by Dale Sauve specializes in hand carved wooden flowers with hand crafted vases and fan carving. Riverbend Gardens and Nursery of Wroxeter specializes in Daylilies, Hostas and a variety of perennials. Herbal Heaven from Mildmay has herbs, vegetables, plants perennials, along with jams/jellies and garden accessories. Perennial Passions/Lawnmaster with Paul Vandermolen from Seaforth features new perennial introductions. Minto Arts Council will be present to elevate the arts to new heights. Minto Farmers' Market will be in attendance to promote the market. Tony & Donna Pasman from Waldemar have hand woven baskets in traditional and contemporary designs using rattan reed which allows for extensive shaping and use of colour. Front Porch Crafts by Bernice Cherry of Palmerswton. She has solar lights, butt cans and outdoor wreaths. Jodene Marquardt from Stones N' More in Harriston sells hanging baskets, potted plants, trees, shrubs and various gift items. Your Creations with Eliabeth Ridell features Hellebores, hostas, Bleeding Hearts and More Jeff Davis from Davishill Nursery also has hanging baskets containers and weird annuals. Bevelled Edge Blade and Blacksmith Mike Shannon from Drew features decorative wrought iron garden and patio accents. Overall Plants - Locally grown perennials, annuals, herbs and Heritage tomatoes. North Wellington Co-Op - vegetables, annuals, hanging baskets, perennials, trees & shrubs. Greenbush Heritage Organic Farm operated by Krista & Terry Fisk specializing in vegetable plants in season for canning and produce. Leanan Sidhe Art by Amy Belair of Palmerston will feature drawings, paintings and other originals. Flowers to Fragrance Lavender products plus other herbs operated by the Morris' of Harriston. Alpaca Central from Grand Valley will feature two alpacas on site. They will have yarn, socks, hats and scarves etc. I is operated by Aldo & Jean Marasciao. Gail Lambert of Harriston has a selection of garden stones. Gottfried Carpentry by Wayne Gottfried of Clifford. Wayne produces trellises, obelisks, lawn chairs, benches plus much more. Cliff Photographic Cliff Smith of Mount forest will display photo prints of flowers, landscapes and statues to purchase as cards and prints. Harriston-Minto Agricultural Society presents the fall fair from Sept. 14th to 16th. The theme this year is "Fur and Feather Fun".
